Many people feel confused about their feelings, both wanting help and pushing people away. Today, we explain how understanding Attachment makes sense of this.
As infants, we need to attach to a safe person in order to grow and develop well. What happens if our key carer is not safe?
Anxious attachment can lead us to develop a "false self" and to build defences to keep out shame and pain.
