Who is Suitable to Attend?
You don't have to be 'artistic' to come! In fact, it's sometimes easier if you're not! It's not about producing a masterpiece, it's about releasing feelings and exploring what happens when we work creatively. There is no formal lecture-style teaching, but demonstrations and individual practical work, or work in pairs/triplets. People often attend this course more than once because each time the experience is different. There is no formal ministry time, so anyone attending must be able to contain the feelings and emotions that arise, and have follow-up help after the weekend. Although it is aimed at counsellors, it is also suitable for certain individually assessed clients.

The course is led by Pauline Andrew with support from other members of the Deep Release training team

30 May - 1 June 2008, The SION Community, Brentwood, Essex

DEEP RELEASE TRAINING & MINISTRY WEEKEND FOR COUNSELLORS

This is an opportunity for counsellors to experience Deep Release for themselves, and to receive training and input as to why the interventions were used and how it 'works'! The course combines lively, illustrated teaching with small group sessions where you will work alongside 3 other participants, all counsellors, with 2 team leaders who are experienced Deep Release practitioners. There will be two group sessions which will focus entirely on you, with an hour for your own personal work and then half an hour to analyse process and receive training. The weekend will include plenary teaching sessions, demonstrations and times of worship.

Participants on this course will be taking part in the Training and Ministry Weekend as part of their ongoing development as Deep Release counsellors and will be expected to attend the Principles & Practice of Deep Release Levels I and II, and other day courses.

On booking you will be sent an Application Form which should be completed and returned as soon as possible.

The Programme
Start Time: Friday morning; registration from 9.30 am, first session 11.00 am.
End Time: Sunday afternoon, approx 3.30 pm.

The conference is on a full board residential basis. We endeavour to find single rooms for all participants but a few may have to share.

Follow-up Support
Participants are asked to ensure that you have a support counsellor who will meet with you before and after the course.

Feedback from 2007 course participants:

“As a counsellor I am more and more convinced and impressed by this  important way of working.  As a client I need to put myself in the place of receiving and experiencing it—hugely for my own benefit and healing—I then learn for real and can pass it on.”

“This was excellent - a time to really observe and ask questions of such skilled workers - brilliant. I learnt such a lot and there has been some healing for me in understanding my early childhood.”

“I can’t believe how much I have learnt!  An absolutely excellent weekend.”

"I understood how to use certain techniques for the first time.  I saw the possibilities, it opened my eyes, and I also had very meaningful therapy for myself.  Totally mind-blowing, wonderful!"

Venue: The SION Community, Brentwood, Essex
The Cost: £205.00 per person
Deposit on application: £35 (non-refundable, non-transferable)

Full payment is required 4 weeks prior to the course start date. Payment may be made in instalments provided the full amount is received by the start of the weekend. Application for financial assistance may be made to the Bursary Fund.

The Deep Release Team
The Deep Release Weekends are led by psychiatrists, psychotherapists and counsellors. We believe in the centrality of Christ's redemptive work on the cross, the power of the Holy Spirit and the authority of the Word of God as essential to our ministry. We seek to combine Christian faith with the best of psychological and psychotherapeutic understanding and skills.
